Spaces for bodies is a group exhibition exploring the adaptation of body and space to the intersection of the physical and virtual world.
Phygital environments melt together abstract and tangible in sometimes poetic, sometimes uncanny ways. While trying to keep up with the perpetual metamorphosis of reality, the body itself mutates and becomes fluid – struggling not to lose track of its identity.
In this scenario, perception might deceive. How can sensory perception, especially touch, be represented or even “replaced” in a digital experience?
Extended isolation and excessive screen time make us feel like our tactile memory is fading, living in virtual realities for too long generates a sense of disembodiment.
We’re experiencing a new habitat, adaptation takes time.
